Class Instructor: Jeri Jones

Jeri owns Jones Geological Services in Spring Grove, PA where he studies the geology of southeastern Pennsylvania. Inhis 38 years of research Jeri leads groups on field trips and acts as a consultant to several area quarries. He has traveledthroughout the country conducting field trips and programs for all ages. He previously taught at HACC-Gettysburg, YorkCollege of Pennsylvania and Messiah College. He received the Digman Award for Geologic Excellence from the EasternChapter of the National Association of Geoscience Teachers. He has authored five books, narrated a geologic educationvideo series and written numerous articles. Jeri also is a guest columnist for the York Daily Record where he writes about local earth science. His latest book “Isabella and Trent’s Hot Air Balloon Adventure – A Kid’s Book of Pennsylvania

Sunday, October 10 th - Astronomy Night    7pm - 9:00 pm   

Come out to Little Creek Community Park for an evening of star gazing. The waxing

Moon will be perfect for viewing through a telescope identifying craters, maria and

several Apollo landing sites. Other objects visible will be Venus, Jupiter and Saturn and

several deep-sky marvels. Also be ready to spot a satellite or too.
